Males are very similar in coloration to C.cyanocephalus except for the additional presence of a white blaze on the forehead and smaller size. Both of these species are sympatric at Chiloelo, Mozambique. Territorial males build cave craters in the intermediate habitat, using a large, overhanging rock. This rock thus forms a protective wall on one side and a ceiling over the nest. C.parvus forages in the water column near the bottom and on benthic invertebrates. |
