Hello everyone.

Just had my 1st batch of convict fry about 3 weeks ago. After a week of the fry free swimming, i cam home from work and they were all gone, guessing they were eaten by the parents. My question is should i remove the fry next time????

Thank you

I'd just leave the fry, but I've gotten stuck with a bunch of fry that I couldn't get rid of in the past so maybe my opinion is skewed. I feel like when it comes to Cons, it doesn't hurt to loose a brood once in a while. Most likely the fry were eaten because the parents are ready to spawn again so you should have another batch soon.

If you have gravel, they can get down in it. Keep an eye on the vac tube when you do your next gravel vac/water change. You may see some getting sucked up. Also, check your filters. They can get sucked up in those as well. Or the parents ate them. Don't worry, soon enough you'll have more Convicts than you know what to do with. :D

Thank you for the comments... I plan on Using the fry as feeders... So should i get a growot out tank... and once they become free swimming remove them? Or remove them when they are still eggs????

Thank you,
