I've thought about it but never have. The plan was to just make 3 panels, 1 for the front and 2 for the sides and leave it unattached - just sitting on the floor so it can be easily moved for cleaning and what now.

thats exactly what i have.....some warehouse meccano style shelving that can take a lot of weight.
the metal is full of holes for bolts so it will be easy at a later date just to attach panels.

Yeah that is exactly what I was thinking, three stained wooden panels, and adding maybe four fake doors to the front one.
Dont know how I am going to do with the corners of these boards??
