Just picked up a tank from a co worker. its an old one with lots of white crusty residue on the top 6 inches from low waetr levels. *** tried to scrub the stuff but it wont come clean. Any ideas? *** even used a razor blade with minimal luck. Any suggestions would be apericated!

lime away. Clean it, but let it sit for awhile after. Chemicals are bad!

Try soaking it with vinegar.

Had a tank like that myself. Used white vinegar (like Vincent suggested) and baking soda. Last step is to rinse it very well with say a hosepipe.

My tank came up looking almost new.
