I have never seen this before. I have seen fish spit out food that they thought they could fit into their belly after they suck it in and start chewing, but this is different. My Jewel Cichlid (Hemichromis Guttatus) is releasing a mucus-like substance avery 5 min or so out of his mouth. He is not really acting funny otherwise, but has been doing this all morning. He is keeping is space and pushing the rest of the Africans away. I don't know if this is bad for the rest of the aquarium or how long it will last. Does anyone have a clue what it is? Thanks in advance.
