This cichlid came from an over crowded 46g bowfront with 30 other fish. I consider it a rescue because it has room now. Not much in a 55g, but at lease it's not so crowded.

I'm trying to figure out what it is. The previous owner said it was a parrot, but I'm not really sure. The fish is super stressed out due to poor water/food/over crowding in the previous tank.

I think it might be some kind of severum. But anyone else know?

Either a parrot (hybrid) or severum. If it has a deformed mouth, then it is a parrot. I'm leaning towards parrot because of the color.

It's got a big mouth (normal cichlid size anyway) . I thought it would try to eat some of the smaller cichlids, but so far it hasn't.

I'm no expert, but it looks very Severum like to me.

I thought it might be heros liberifer, but someone else said it's not. Idk. At lease it's a verified severum.
