hello there, i have 10 cardinal tetras in my planted tank and wondered if i could put some othere tetras in there. i have had them 4 a year now and was thinking of either getting half a dozen red nosed tetras or some x ray tetras will this be ok?
Keeping more than onen species of tetra shouldn't be a problem in general terms. In the wild dozens of different species share the same habitat. A few species are known to be a little nippy but rummynose and x-ray tetras are pretty tranquil. Of course how many you can keep is dependant on the size of the tank, filtration, other tank mates, mantinance schedule and other factors.
