can anyone tell me what this is????

i razor blade these flecks off ...and an hour later they are back again in different places and shapes and sizes.

the filter is running and catches them.

they are formed underwater and are driving me nuts.

i know the obvious answer but i dont think it is ...forms too quickly and its underwater not at the surface.

Whats the texture like? Is it waxy or soft?

i know it seems like calcium ...bu it just suprises me how quickly it forms???

Do you have any crusty build ups on your filter/s that may break loose during maintenance?

the filter is a 2117 so im sure that any lumps entering it would not come out the other side...
