Yep!

They are like many Africans.
They work best in groups where aggression is diluted through the group or as singles where tankmates such as yours should coexist fine.
It's when they are kept in two's and three's that issues can arise

The word "happiness" is misleading. Is this an adequate set-up for the fish? Sure, as long as the barbs don't harass it too much. It'll be much more comfortable with a bit of rock work, too.

Happily? Not really. They are social fish, more comfortable in a group. Mbuna along often dig compulsively or just hide all the time when alone.
