I am buying a 75G that comes with a pair of breeding parrots. Anybody know how unusual this is? I seem to recall reading that at one point it was rare. Any idea what they should sell for?
I'd say there's really no chance they can produce live fry. I don't know of anyone whose parrots have done so, although plenty will pair up and go through the motions (courting, laying eggs, male attempting to fertilize them). The males are sterile while most females are completely fertile.
assuming your talking about Blood parrots, there is a 99.99% chance they can not produce fry, as Natalie said, almost all females are fertile, and there are only a handful of males in the world that are fertile.
