What do you mean by breeding behavior? Fighting looks like breeding behavior only without the eggs.

Its like there trying to test together not fighting there both staying close to each other swimming in circles have moved all the sand also from the area there doing it in

The circles and shimmying are also forms of aggression, just like the lip locking.

What about one of them moving the sand from the area there staying in a small area together
If it was aggression wouldn’t the one getting bullied swim off away from there

All Malawi move substrate and claim an area...male or female, spawning or chasing. Usually the victim fish will fight back for weeks/days to try to be the winner. When the victim fish is worn down by constant fighting, that is when their immune systems start to fail and disease can set in. Bloat is a common consequence.

That’s what I thought under the chin of it has gone bigger than normal also am thinking it’s a female that’s been hormones feed
