i jus got this tank setup so it’s murky. i’ve gone back and forth a million times on what i think this cichlid is. ideas? cant get a good photo it’s FAST and has the slightest bit of orange on the end of its fins. it’s about 6 inches and grew faster than any cichlid i’ve ever had. it’s pretty stressed here but gets darker at times. never looses it’s barring though.

By looking at the shape of its nose, it appears to be a hybrid to me.

Idk about it being a hybrid... It just looks like a mbuna to me. The problem is that there are so many different blue barred mbunas. It's not one that I'm familiar with, but that doesn't necessarily make it hybrid

wow it’s a spitting image !! at least we identified someone’s fish haha !

Far from a "spitting image". Jalo Reef has a full yellow dorsal and Colzilla's fish has a yellow band on the edge of the dorsal. That's the first thing I see wrong.

Keep looking.

Both are probably Zebra-ish hybrids, there are many similar barred Mbuna and the females look almost the same and they don't really care. Unless they are sold as a definite name, they usually are vague. Even pure Greshakei are rare in the hobby now.
