Blasting sand?

1557 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  MalawiLover
I picked up a 100lb bag of white blasting sand for $25 to use in my 75gal. I was wondering if anyone has any experience using it. It is really fine almost like sugar. I used a little bit of it in a freshwater nano and it looks great. I'm just concerned about long term use. It's been in my nano for about a month now. Do you foresee any issues? Here is a pic in my nano. Your input would be appreciated.

looks awesome
i dont think it would be a problem but i would wait for a pro to maybe put in. but i myself would use it. BUT thats just me :thumb:
You may find the finer sands get kicked up by the fish more and stay suspended a bit longer that larger grained sands and require a bit of "getting the hang of it" for vacuuming, but they do look really nice.
