Hello everyone.

I have a new 1.5 '' Altolamprologus calvus that appears to have a deformation of the wrist in front of his tail. He holds his tail to the side and in a horizontal manner. I do not think he was doing this in the tank at the breeders house were I got him. Could it be an injury or is that a normal behavior for them?

thanks for the imformation

Mine do hold their tails like that on occasion, just not 100% of the time. I think it's when they are feeling defensive, they bend their bodies to hold the sharp scales on their sides toward a perceived attacker.

Does anyone else in the tank seem to be confronting him?
