During breeding, are there any cichlids out there that wont kill other fish in the other tank, when they're breeding.
Im interesting in convicts and kribs, but i heard they will kill anything in the tank when they breed and they often breed.
i really only wan't to put a small school of some bottom feeders, or something along those lines, any suggestions?
Should i just stick with the pair of kribs or convicts?

Kribs are more mild mannered than convicts so they may work with other fish when breeding in a 29 but if you are going to do Cons they definetly need the 29 all to themselves.

One more thought, if you want something similar size to cons and easy to breed take a look at Cutteri and Sajica, they are very closely related to cons, more colorful and in my experience less aggressive.

Fish are very territorial during breeding time. With a 29gal tank there is not alot of running room for fish not breeding. Have you tried using a divider to keep the other fish safe.
