I am working on my styrofoam background. I originally planned on using cement but have read of a few people using drylok instead. Which would be better? Pros/cons of each?? I want this background to last as long as possible. Not sure which way to go :)

thanks!!

I only made one and I used cement on mine. I thought it looked pretty nice, and my fish were very healthy. One problem I had was my bristle nose pleco chewed a couple holes in the cement. I probably should have layered it on a little thicker.

I agree, if you use drylok you will never again use concrete on a background. Faster cure time, no leaching or PH spikes, much easier and less mess.
