I am very new to cichlids so please bear with me lol
I got a baby flowerhorn (maybe one inch) a little over a month ago and he spits all his food out and ignores it. I've tried hikari, shrimp, chicken heart, soaking the pellets, soaking the pellets in bloodworm juice and other various pellets. He only seems to eat bloodworms. I did get him to eat a few bites of hikari, but only after 3 days of starving him. He just spits everything back out. The tank is a proper size, heated and the parameters are in check. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I prefer the opposite approach. Fill him up with bloodworms (ie whatever it will eat) and keep him topped up. After a week stop and let his belly empty. He'll be starving and will eat whatever you want him to eat. It's worked for me many times with Oscars and a few others.

Has it lost any weight?
