I have 4 melanochromis auratus.I believe they are all female.I just noticed when I turned off the tank light that a coulpe of them begin to chase each other around in a small circle.What are they doing?

Probably just playing or trying to figure out who is boss.
I had 3 auratus that I got when they were real small and was beginning to think they were all female but after maybe 8 months or so, 2 of them started turning male color & fighting big time. I had to take one of them back to the LFS (after he grew his tail back out in another tank). I'm even wondering about the "female" now as "she" is getting some black on her face and belly too. I'm keeping a close eye out for trouble.

Possibly big enough to spawn but not big enough to assume they're all females just yet.
