Are yellow labs slow growing?

1153 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  hollyfish2000
About six months ago i got a bunch of juvies that were all about the same size. I got some labs, a couple differant kinds of zebras, some kenyis, a bumble bee and a rusty. Since i got them, all of these fish have about tripled in size but the labs are still a LOT smaller than the other fish i baught at the same time. they are only about half the size. Are labs naturally slower growing, smaller fish or is there something wrong with mine?

I've never noticed them growing slower, but I can see how they might not get as much food as the others because of their more passive nature. Rusties are the biggest pigs I've ever kept next to acei.

Try observing at feeding time and see if they seem to be getting their share...I bet you'll find this is the case.

Not really...For the most part, they just aren't as aggressive all the way around as other species. Rusties and aceis are the only other comparable species aggression wise, and both of those are absolute pigs, so housing them together wouldn't even solve the problem.

I'm sure they are getting enough to eat!
