I remember on this site a couple of years back there was an awesome pic of a goby in the cichlidforum.com banner. this goby almost looked black with spots. I looked in the photo contest area, but can't find this pic. anyone know the species name. if the pic is not enhanced, that is one beautiful goby. so far all the gobies I see are brownish green colored. Does this goby really exist?

My WC gobies from Zambia were darker than ones from Kasanga, but substrate, background, and mood can influence the color of the fish dramatically.

Here's my F1 Zambians (black sand/background, and getting ready to spawn):


But- here's the WC granddaddy when holding. He's much paler here than when in spawning mood.

nice Triscuit! That's a very useful variant map. Your gobies are pretty hot!! Too bad gobies are considered a threatened species. It would suck to only have them in our tanks. Very underated species.
