came across this website while browsing the internet:

anyone have one? In theory it sounds like it should work, and cut down on water changes. basically sounds like a canister filter designed to house de-nitrifiying bacteria, and it's feed with ethanol.......

Never used one. Seems good in theory but I personally would have a hard time not doing the same water changes I do now. I just don't think there is substitute for doing fresh water changes. If it's not broke, I'm not fixing it just to do less water changes. If you end up getting it, let us know if it works.
I hear you on the water changes. If I got it, I would still do water changes. I've always been taught that the reason we do water changes is to primarily get rid of nitrates. Maybe there's some other dissolved organics that are being taken away? The science behind the product is solid from the nitrate perspective. Add a bacteria that converts the nitrate to N2 gas. Still debating if it's worth the bother. From what I read on their website, it seems like a pain to set up again if it hasn't been running for awhile. You would have to buy their media all over again, and flush the system completely.
