I have a 30 gallon tall. As expected, the cichlids stay in the lower half. Is there anything compatible with these which will dwell on the top 1/3 of the tank and survive?

I will ask this nicely before the whole community jumps down your throat. Are you saying you have A firemouth . convicts, and a JD in a 30 tall.?? I wouldn't add anymore fish. Id take the JD out and the firemouth and leave a pair of cons in with some zebra danios or something.
