Only just joined but been keeping African Lakes for a few years now. I've had a few rescues given to me and I'm trying to ID them, both are approx 3 inches long. Hope I can add pics...not great at this forum malarkey. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, can't ID based on those pics, these fish may even be hybrids.
First looks like an Aulonocara or a mix of one. Very dark. Impossible to ID a female without colour. Has there been any sign of male colour?
Second is a Mbuna, might be male. Seems very vague at this point. Does he ever get darker, get lighter, get bluer, get barring?

The Mbuna gets paler at times more apricot with pale lavender barring but I can never get a picture. The "Aulonocara" isn't showing any sign of anything at all bar the white edge to the dorsal fin.
