i've had a 29 gallon set up and running for a little over a week now its got about 20 guppies and 10 ghost shrimp in it to get it going and these are my readings after 1 week kh: 5 ph: 8.2 nitrite: 0.25 PPM nitrate: 20 PPM ammo 2.0 ppm. Is this about right i tested the water the day i filled the tank it came up KH: 2 PH: 6.2 0 ammo nitrates and nitrites i've got about 30 lbs of aragonite in it. 1 whisper HOB rated for a 30 gallon and a power head through a filter plate that is rated for 200 GPH. i have well water so no worries about chlorine or anything else i guess it tests good out of the tap with no ammo nitrates or nitrites and about 6 ish ph and 2 kh

Looks like the tank is cycling normally. It may take a few more weeks. Not sure how the guppies and ghost shrimp will fare under these conditions though. Are these the intended permanent residents?

Naw i didnt think they would live but there doing ok after its done cycling and i put a few cichlids in i thought the little guys would just get eaten if not the store i got them from said he'll take them back for credit
