hi can someone ID these? i was told that they are wild peruvian scalares. can someone verify? are these hard to keep? thanks.

Would probably need a better shot of their forehead to be sure, but they look like the fish called 'peruvian altum' or 'peruvian scalare.' Not a true altum, still cool fish. Thought to be a new species but that is quite a hot debate.

The forehead doesn't quite look like a true altum to me but that could be the angle and the bands deffinately don't look wide enough for the true altum.

Stripes indicate they aren't true altums, they're definately sclarae - nice fish.

Pretty good size on em', $30 a peice is average - it's not a great price but you're not being taken advantage of either.

amazing flank color ... but I like my wild angels to have those red eyes that most wild scalare have ... decent size though. Am sure they'd be more in a LFS up here at least ... though that could becuase they'd be sold as peruivan altums. :lol:
