Hi All,

I have 5 compressiceps (2m 3f) that live in my 1200L (300gal) with lots of other small tangs
In the last few weeks 3 of them have been progressively sitting on the bottom more and more.
They rest on their fins and breathe heavier than the other fish.
When they do go for a swim it takes more effort than it should.
I have done water changes and increased aeration but no change.
The other 50 or so fish are fine. Only the comps have the problem.
The tank is large enough that the two males rarely see each other, their favorite spots are 4ft away from each other

Parameters are GH=180 Kh=240 ph=8.0 no2=0 no3=0
medium flow tank (fish dont struggle to hover in one spot)
I feed twice a day lightly with a range of frozen, flake and pellet (all place in water first)

I think swim bladder issue? but why only the comps? and why not all the comps?

Anyone got any ideas?

What are the dimensions of your tank?

Your nitrate should not be zero if your tank is cycled.

What is your test result for ammonia?

Are the 2 fish sitting on the bottom females? Maybe the males are harassing them. Do they have shells to hide in?

Tank is 7ft x 2.5ft x 2.5ft

Tank has been running for a few years now
Nitrate does always ready very low, somewhere between 0 and 20 on my API test kit
Ammonia is halfway between 0 and 0.25 ppm on API test kit (these never seem to read zero even with RODI water when i had salt water tanks)

1 male and 2 females are affect by this sinking/sitting

What i am trying at the moment is feeding less
