most of my cynotilapia afra chimate norths are 2-3 in. and refuse to breed. *** been noticing one of my males doing a shimmy type thing(kind of like the shimmy they do while breeding) and digs under this one rock constantly like hes making a home. Are my males finally attempting to breed or is he just becoming a dominate male. i know about breeding i just dont want to get my hopes up and be upset when they dont breed. not an expert on afras

It sounds like your male is just about ready, but unfortunately the females are really the limiting factor - they need to produce eggs. How many females over 2 inches do you have?

Sometimes it can take a few months for the fish to settle in to a tank - give it another month or two.

from what it looks ike i have 1-2 males above 2 inches and maybe 5 females.. i got around 26 of these but i cant really determine male/female which either means they arent showing any color, i have alot of sub dom males or what i hope an extremely great male/female ratio if 2-3 more males color up.
