So I have (7) 5 week old yellow lab fry in a 10 gal by themselves. Is it normal for them to be "fighting" already? I am guessing this is probably natural but wanted to hear others experience. The biggest one, who already has a little black on it's top fin, is the tank bully but a couple of them try to stand up to it, especially when it's guarding food. I had (8) but one died. Not sure if it was from aggression or not, it didn't look sick or beat up.

I've seen auratus fry lip locking within 24 hours after they were released.

I once had a batch of 24 Aulonocara Jaobfriebergi "otter point" fry that were all killed in the first week by the biggest one. He was only bigger by a couple of days, not much by size. He just lost his egg sac first and was a bit darker. He now is 6 in. across and is a beauty...But I can honestly say that has never happened again.
