my african cichlid has a silver shiny diamond shape ball on the tip of the bottom back fin , before getting to the tail, when he was younger it wasnt there but as he gets older it grows dont know what it is? :roll: I recently bought a cave now it hides in there and is real agrressive towards my other cichlid when it goes near.I took the cave out and it seems he 's more agrressive now then ever before. :-? i dont know wut to do?

please any information will help

Sounds like an egg spot. Depending on the species of your fish it could mean it is a male, or just that it is begining to mature a litte and getting some additional coloration. Also depending on the species by having a cave to call his(her) own has given it a reason to protect it also as many species mature they become very aggressive.

It would really help to know what sopecies you have in order to better undersatnd their behaviors and know if they are even compatable long term.

I'd put the cave back for him and another for the other fish too, but not to close together. You should post pics of your fish so someone could help you figure out just what kind they are and what that ball is on the fin for sure. :)
