I have a chance to get a mated pair of these but I am unable to find any info on them Does anyone here have any experiance with this species. They would go into a 300 gallon tank with small Tetras, Ottos, Japonica Shrimp, Bolivian Rams, Corys, Kabotia Botias, SAE's, Bristlenose Plecos and Redline Torpedo Barbs. The person selling them to me says it would work but I need more info...any info on them. He is coming this weekend to purchase some F1 Xenotilapia Ochrogenys "Ndole Bay" from me and wants to give me this pair as partial payment.

Thank you for any info you could supply

It's actually an Andinoacara species, related to the Blue Acara grouping. I would treat like a Blue Acara, which are generally not that aggressive. I would say any big fish will try to eat any little fish - or shrimp. In that large a tank, they will likely clear a small territory for breeding, but I doubt they would chase the other fish to death. More likely the loaches will eliminate any eggs/fry.
