So I have a new addition to my fish family. This GT belonged to a co-worker of mine. His 3 year old son knocked over the bookshelf that his fish tank was on. He/she was injured pretty bad in the fall. (The fish not the kid.) He has quite a few scales missing from one side of his body. My main question is how best to help the wounds heal as quickly and painlessly as possible.I have been told melafix was good, but I just want to make sure that's my best option. He/she is also really stressed. Since his tank was broken, the fish was housed in a bucket with an airstone for several hours. Since I had an empty 10 gal tank laying around, he gave the fish to me. HIs fins are also really torn up due to a P. manguensis he lived with until about 3 months ago. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.

I would just do daily water changes and add Melafix to the tank. Should you notice any cottony or fuzzy growths around the wounds or fins and tail, you may need to move on to antibiotics.
