Hello, new member to the forums and need some advice on stocking levels for a 135 gallon tank (72"x18"x25"). Planning to do a mix of all male 2.5-3" Peacocks and hap Victorians to start with. Would a mix of 24 be too many or too little for aggression (seen some fish retail sellers say 30 is lightly stocked)? Looking for a good starting point with the ability to add more as time goes on.
Filters on the tank are an FX6 and Aquael 2000.

Thanks

Welcome to Cichlid-forum!

I like 18 males in a 72" tank that mature at or less than six inches. Victorian haps may be troublesome with Malawi and in all-male. Some are aggressive and some do not color well (at least as well as the Malawi) without females in the tank.

The number would be higher if it was a mixed gender tank.

Retailers are in the business of selling fish.
