I have a 75 gallon tank with two breeding groups 1) one male peacock (sunshine) with four females 2) one male Placidochromis (star sapphire) with three females. i am thinking of adding either a third group, one taiwan reef a with three females or for addition color simply adding a couple of males like a male taiwan reef and maybe a Zimbawe Rock.

My question is should i leave well enough alone because the tank is very peaceful now or of the two options which would be the lesser risk of upsetting the balance?

I wouldn't add any other fish to that group, you're pretty heavily stocked for a 75 gallon. If you feel like you just need to add another one, the lithobates would be the better option because they don't grow as big as the Taiwan reef

Thanks for the response. That kind of what I figured. I'll probably just leave it as is and let them mature, they have some growing to do anyway.

Agree. Also given the fact that even the Placidochromis are on the large side for a 75G.

No problem, that would be your best bet.
