I would like to build an acrylic tank 72"x24"x24".
what is the thickness of acrylic sheet i should use ?

Hey Pat. My 180 (thats what you measurements will be) is a Truvu brand and it is 3/8" but in all honesty I believe the recomended standard for 24" tall is 1/2".

Do you think acrylic thinkness 1/2" is ok ?

Aquarium Height - Sheet Thickness
1 to 12 inches - 1/4 inch
12 - 18 inches - 3/8 inch
18 - 24 inches - 1/2 inch
24 - 30 inches - 3/4 inch
