Can't tell by their colors... venting is the only sure way to sex them.
Acei Ngara..color differences between male & female??
So are there any visual differences between males and females of this variety?
I bought a ~3.5" male about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Last week a pulled him out and took a quick look at the underside and the fish appeared to be female. It has been about a year since i vented a fish and i didnt have my 30x magnifier so there is a good chance i didnt sex this fish correctly.
I'm going to look again today for my 30x and vent this fish for real but until then I was wondering are there any clear differences (visually) between the males and the females?

Hmm thats not good. Ok well i'm going to find my magnifier and look again.
