I heard that fish should only be stripped in "have to" cases because stripped fry aren't as hardy as spit fry. Is that true?

I strip my females cause they get too much fry at once resulting in almost 40% fry with bendt tails do to not enough space in the females mouth. I have had no problem with my ****. Some get to go in the mail tank when they are bigger and they are tough enough to survive with large malawies.
Of course it`s better for the fish to spit themselves, but I see no harm in stripping them myself.

Thanks for the answer. I didn't really think it was true but thought I'd check to be sure.
