Just to say am new here been lurking a few weeks and just starting posting. Just to say what an informative forum and yet friendly, i joined a tropical one and they almost put me off cichlids as i was relatively new to fish but a LFS has guided me very well i feel and 2.5 months in i just want to buy more tanks but my apartment is not right for it realy but as soon as i get a house i want a bigger one!

Will post pics of my setup in the next few days and would like some help getting the names of all my fish as am unsure on one or two

g-day cardiff,

welcome to the forum.

i'm fairly new to cichlids myself, but you can rest assured there are a lot of wonderful, knowledgable people on this site.

Hi Cardiff,
Chromedome is right. You've come to the right place for help with cichlids. I suppose they can seem to be a complicated fish to keep but if you have the right size tank, good filtration, the right water, food, and a compatible mix of species...they really are a pretty hardy fish and fairly easy to keep. I'm sure you'll enjoy keeping them. I know I do and I'm pretty new to them too. Post pics of the ones your unsure about in the unidentified section and you should get some help with ID-ing them there. Happy fish keeping :fish:

i doubt it.

3 55gals
1 50breeder
1 40 breeder
4 20longs
1 29.
2 20highs
2 10s
=424 gal in a small ass apt. (4 rooms + bathroom and hallway)
+++ empties

i cant have a 120 though :( theres not 6 feet of space anywhere(unless i got rid of the tv)

hey edit: they arent always up, heres the ones that are temp, 1 20long 1 10 and the 40breeder is only for crayfish babies(so 50/50) ++ i have a spare 29g, 20long, 55 and a bunch of 15s(some odd shaped ones) that arent set up

The 120 I was pricing was 5ft. lol
It was kinda an oddball though I think. I specifically wanted a 5 ft. tank. to perfectly fit the wall.
