I am looking at getting a tank setup from someone. Its already stocked with cichlids and has a Fluval FX5 filter. I know nothing about canister filtering systems. (always had smaller tanks like 55 gal and they just had either UG or hang on the top filters)

How easy is it to maintain a Fluval FX5 filter?

Thanks,
Trish

Pretty easy.

On a 90, probably open it up every 6 weeks, rinse stuff off, reassemble.

It's BIG. 14-15" diameter, need at least 20" clearance (floor to top where valves connect).

Great filter btw.

That just means there is a better deal out there with your name on it. Like say a 5' 100 gallon or larger :thumb:
