I added dr tims one and only live bacteria 9 days ago. Ph is at 7.8 ammonia is at .25 nitrite is at 2.0 and nitrate is at 80. Dr tim site says to wait to add more amonia until both amonia and nitrite are at .25, do i wait or add amonia now since its so low? If i do add it will it spike nitrites even higher? I do have another bottle of dr tims live bacteria i can add.
Tank has african mix cichlid sand, 40 lbs of slate, 2 canister filter with bio balls and seachem matrix in them with filter pad and floss. Any advie would be great. Thanks.for a awesome site to read thru.

I've only used ammonia, but wait until your ammonia is at 0 and the next day add more and check it in 24hrs. later.

You want it to process ammonia to 0 in a 24hr period. Once it does add ammonia every day / other day and start checking nitrItes and wait for it to drop.
