Hi Chubbs the Jellybean. Thanks for this information. I heard that Oscars fight another fish within the aquarium. Is this true? Why are they so violent? How are they related to the Paco and Piranha fishes?
They are not related to those fish at all, different species and families. Oscars are not really agressive fish, but will eat anything they can fit into there mouths. Most fights come from territory disputes, and if fish are breeding, you will get more aggresion out of the pair defending the spawning site or fry. Hope that helps!
I agree with Pep Oscars are Really Aggressive! Especially when they get older. They really want a tank to themselves. A 75 gallon is great for a single Oscar. I have mine in a bare, very bare 60 gallon all by himself.
