I am setting up a 60g tank. I know I definitely want multies but local variety for other tanganyika species is limited. Options are brevis, Julie transcriptus, calvus , cyps , brichardi.

I will add more rock. Originally I was thinking multies on one side, brevis on the other. Not sure what to pick for the rock area in the centre and upper area. I know cyps would be the default but I don't actually want that many breeding species...I have another tank with rummy nose tetra and I was wondering if they would do ok...ph in their tank is high (7.8-8)

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks.

What are the dimensions of the 60G?

Assuming it is 48" long I would choose either julidochromis or calvus as the 2nd species and skip a 3rd species since you don't want cyps.

I would choose either brevis or multies since they are both shell dwellers and both want to claim the bottom.

Thanks for the help.

I settled on a pair of brevis, trio of Juli transcriptus and 10 cyps blue flash (3 male and 7 female).
