I just set up a 60 cube 24x24x24 with a 150watt mh. My original intent was to house some tangs like calvus/shellies/cyps maybe a goby, but as im reading these threads that doesnt sound like such a great idea. Any other suggestions? Or should i look along the lines of making it a planted community tank?

150 Watt Metal Halide is a heck of a lot of light. IMO far more suited to a heavily planted tank than a tang tank, which is generally done with rockwork only, or with sparse plants. If you're going to go the planted route, you'll want to choose fish that are plant-safe.

If not, you might have quite the algae farm, which you should also factor into your fish choices (you can limit algae growth somewhat by leaving the light only for only limited periods of the day).
