Hey guys, i will be setting up an Oceanic 58g tank (36x18x21) and want to stock it with Malawi cichlids. I want to go with an all male hap/peacock tank but they get large so maybe an all mbuna tank would work out better?

I will most likely upgrade to a larger 90g later on so it could work out. For filtration i will be running an Eheim Pro+ 250 and an Aquaclear 70, also a Hydor Koralia 425 powerhead for additional water circulation, if needed. What do you guys recommend?

A 36" tank limits you to only a few specific species. I would wait until you have the 90G to purchase fish for all-male.

For a 36" tank I would do:
12 Chindongo saulosi for mbuna, or
1m:4f Lethrinops for haps, or
1m:4f Aulonocara kandeense for peacocks
