Hi there i recently bought a 2inch GT from Petsmart. The fish is healthy and in good condition. Anyway i want to create a GT community tank with the GT being the centre piece. Now i have an arowana in there htat will probably go to a new home if i cant get my 180g going. Also got 2 african cichlids in three from my last move.

What kind of fish can possibly be good for my tank.
55g 48x12x21
The tank is rdy and has been running for months.

I was thinking:
Green terror x1
Firemouth x1
clown loach x4
tiger barb x5-7

What do you think?

I think I'm going to move this to the SA cichlid folder... And also hate to break it to you but a 180 isn't big enough for an aro either...

aww thats too bad. Thought a 180g would suffice for an arowana. Least he will be going to a better home. Anyway

i still need help on my dilemma lol.

Would my stock list work in a 55g?

seems like a 55 might be cramped a little bit because green terrors get to 12". i would probably do it though especially because *** heard green terrors grow a little bit slower and u would probably have some extra time to maybe buy a larger tank if u need to.

I would go with everything but the firemouth, it generally a bad idea to overstock your tank assuming you will have time to get another tank.

I'm on record ad nauseum about my view on appropriate tank sizes for certain fish. I agree with darth6 about a 6 foot tank not being large enough for an arowana. I also do not think a 55g tank is suitable for an adult GT, infact I'm not real keen on any 4 foot tank for an adult GT. The 180g will make a good home for the GT though.
