Just setup a 46g bow front looking for some stocking ideas. Only want 2 fish possibly a breeding pair. Have a 90 gallon they can move into when they get bigger.

Dimensions and also what fish are you considering? Also what is the max size of fish you are looking for? A pair of Salvini would work ok short term but not long term and also you will need to keep an eye on them and seperate them when needed. Personally though I would say:

Convicts
Firemouths
Rainbow
Sajica
Cutteri
Nanoluetus AKA Yellow Convicts
And other mid sized cichlids will be a far better choice and also would work longterm.
