i want to set up a 26 gallon jack dempsey tank, the tank is 24 x 15 x 21. how many could i have in there?

Hi jkeehn33,

Unfortunately JDs grow too large for a 26 gallon tank potentially reaching 10+ inches. You would need a 40 gallon breeder or a 55 gallon for JDs. There are other dwarf cichlid options for your tank (i.e. rams, apistos). You could also probably try a pair of convicts.

Yes, unfortunately your tank is much too small for jack dempseys. With only a 24" length, I personally wouldn't even try a pair of convicts, but you never know. Look into the dwarf species mentioned.
