I have bought a 55 gallon tank.... it came with...

2 convicts - a male and female :)... yup everyone else hides apart from the JD's..
but seriously... I also have 2 zebras, 2 JD's.... 2 unknowns 9Im hoping to get them ID'd in another thread).. and a common pleco..

The convicts rule the tank other than a run in with my big JD..

I am waiting to find someone who wants to take them off my hands... but until then... how can I make the tank a little more friendly... I have a large log and in that log hide the zebras, unknowns, pleco, and 1 of the JD's.... the 2 cons swim around freely.....

Breeding pairs of Cichlids are very aggressive and attempt to suppress tankmates... They are typically difficult to keep in a community setting...

The easiest option I see is to simply remove one of the two Convicts. When they are not spawning their territorial needs aren't as great and they are much easier on tankmates...
