I just upgraded to a 135 gallon aquarium and I currently have 22 male peacocks and Haps that are only at around 4". I'm not going to be adding anymore for awhile but when I do around how many is ok for a 135 with sufficient filtration? All my fish will max out at 6-10" and right now I only have 3 that will be over 7". A guy at the LFS said I could have 75-80 but that sounds like way too many for them to be happy.

Also is it true that they will grow much faster now that they're in a bigger tank?

Once fish get to 3-4" their growth rate slows down. I like 18 individuals that mature at <= six inches in a 72" tank for all male.
