This is my first post on the forums but I have been lurking for weeks now. Im new to the hobby and have a 125gal african tank. I have many diffrent fish in the tank. My question is I have 2 Aquaclear 110's on this tank but as of now they are the only filters I have. I was wanting to add a canister but not sure what I should add. I was thinking of adding an xP4. Any other Ideas? Heres a few pictures of the setup. (sorry for the blur, was a cell phone)

Welcome to the forum.

I would suggest adding additional filtration to your tank. Check out the Reviews section on canister filters to get an idea of what's available.

How many fish do you have in that tank now?

I ran like you, two AC 110s on my 125 with no issues but recently I have added a Rena XP3 to the mix with great results. My tank currently houses about 40 haps and peacocks.

Yes the xp3 does alot of work and am very glad I added it. At your current stock level your two AC110s should do the trick. I added the canister as my fish grew to adult size.

To answer your questions on micro bubbles, the only time I get any bubbling is when the tank water level has dropped due to evaporation. The only other reason to get any air would be on the suction side of the filter. Check the inlet for any cracking in the plastic arm that would cause air to be drawn into the filter.

If I were to do it over again I'd probably use 2 XP3s. I've found them to be a wonderful filter if maintained properly.
