Unless you are ordering something good luck getting these guys to respond to an email or a phone call. I need to return defective merchandise and he won't return a phone call or an email. I dont ever plan on using them again!

"Won't respond to question on quality"
Well, on the recommendation of people here I ordered from Ken's Fish Food. No problem. Then I reorder the same item, NLS and have a quality issue compared to the last batch. All I did was ask in an email if there were any other people that had a problem or whatever and can't even get Ken's to respond in any manner. Simply not acceptable and I guess I'll go back to the bigger shops even though I like to patronize the "little guy". Too bad but won't do business with a supplier that won't answer a question.

I have been getting most of my fish food,and supplies from kens fish lately. They have just about everything I need ,and at some of the best prices around. My order is usually shipped out the next day, and when it arrives, the items are as described , and in good condition.(even a few little extras) I will continue to use kens for most of my aquarium needs. And I would highly recommend that others do the same.

Pros: Good variety from both his food and the other premium foods (HBH and NLS). I got his 100% Spirulina and some NLS. Prices are very reasonable and a half pound of flake is surprisingly large (I won't need to buy food for well over a year). I also liked that he offers shipping choices, seeing that USPS was cheaper than UPS for the quantity I ordered. Shipping was prompt. A free sample of food (an ounce or so) was included as well.

Cons: Flake was a little crumbly, but this is not an issue for me as it is for some on this forum. I've never found a flake that doesn't crumble into smaller pieces. If you want uniform size, buy pellets! My fish aren't thrilled with the 100% spirulina, but I've been feeding them NLS since they were fry. They are more apt to eat it if i feed it before the NLS and i think they will slowly get used to it. I only bought it as a "supplement" to the NLS, so this isn't a huge con.

Overall: Quick easy transaction for quality products. Can't really ask for more.

I am very pleased with my first order from Ken's fish, which arrived in only two days. Prices were reasonable, variety of products was large, and as a seller of both Kordon breather bags and NLS food, Ken's is bookmarked in my favorite sites file!

I will purchase from Ken again in the future as I have in the past. It's been a couple months since my (2nd) order so I've had plenty of time to evaluate everything w/o over-reating.

He allows returns of merchandise but like any small business, he isn't "thrilled" to do it. (I'm selfemployed and I hate it.) So be careful when ordering. If you experiment with new types of food, and your fish don't like it, be prepared to be stuck with some food.

A year ago, I ordered 1 lb of small floating/sinking pellets that most of my fish wouldn't eat. Is this his fault or mine? Mine I believe. So instead of wasting $5.00 S&H returning $4.50 worth of product, I still have 15.5 oz of it.

However, my last shipment had 2 lbs of newer (supposedly "super") tropical fish flake that was SO thin, it would almost disintegrate upon contact. It was the messiest flake I have ever tried. So he let me exchange it but I had to pay for returning the 3lb shipment (which was fair, sucks but fair).
BUT I wish he would have mentioned on his site that these flakes were really thin. Would have saved him some time and money (shipping out the older, thicker flakes I had previously ordered a year ago) as well as saving me time and money.

This time it's his fault for selling product he knew was too thin. Selling on a fish forum full of picky hardcore fishmaniacs, he should have known better.

But I'll be back. :)

"Don't take returns?"
My first experience was very unsatisfactory. My order took over one week to recieve and when I finally received it had one wrong item out of ten. When I tryed to reach them via E-mail and phone all I get is e-mail confirmation 4 days later that says another shipment is going out without any description. I'm guessing it is the missing order, I won't know until I get it. Also I had communicated that I like to return few items explaining that the items don't fit the need for my cichlid. And there still is no response after 8 days. I had used Drsforstersmith 3 times so far and I prefer them 10 times more over Ken's place from this one experience.
Can't say nothing more but dissapointment from nonexistant service.
